Liliana Porter (b. Argentina, 1941) resides in New York since 1964) works across mediums with printmaking, painting, drawing, photography, video, installation, theater, and public art. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections in Latin America, the United States and Europe. Among them The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum and the Whitney Museum in New York City, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía en Madrid.

Please Don’t Move: The Mirror
2022

The image depicts a group of figurines and objects of diverse scales and materiality, surrounding a “photographer” (a toy bear holding a camera). This chaotic situation, repeated in a mirror image and documented by the photographer, acts as a metaphor for an aspect of humanity that disregards the space and the needs of others and accepts without questioning a disruptive reality.
